Josh is an alumnus of UCLA School of Law, having recently graduated with a specialization in the Epstein Program in Public Interest Law and Policy. Passionate about leveraging the law to support activists and organizers working to build a better world, Josh is especially interested in advocating to end immigration detention.

During law school, Josh focused on immigration law.  He worked for two years with UCLA’s Immigrant Family Clinic based out of the RFK Community Schools in Koreatown defending immigrant youth against deportation, led UCLA’s Law Students for Immigrant Justice, drafted a report about family separation in border processing with the Immigration Policy Clinic, assisted the Center for Immigration Law and Policy’s intervention litigation to uphold the CHNV Parole Program, interned for Innovation Law Lab assisting immigrants in ICE detention throughout California, and authored a Comment published by UCLA Law Review regarding First Amendment litigation to protect organizers inside ICE detention from unconstitutional retaliation.  Josh also externed for a federal district judge in the Central District of California, served as an editor on the UCLA Law Review, and was a member of the National Lawyers Guild.

Before law school, Josh worked as a paralegal at a small immigration law firm in Boston after graduating with a B.A. in International Studies and Latin American Studies from Boston College.  Outside of his day-job as a paralegal, he founded the legal support wing of the Boston Immigrant Justice Accompaniment Network, a New England-based immigration bond fund.

Outside of work, Josh loves to explore LA’s food scene with his wife, rock climb, and watch Survivor. More than anything, Josh and his wife love to take their dog Nacho on hikes and camping trips across Southern California. Josh habla español y le encanta practicarlo.
