Kevin McKinnon is the operations manager, supporting the organization in achieving its mission of fighting for justice for our communities through systemic litigation.

Prior to joining SJLF, Kevin was a trial fellow at Hueston Hennigan LLP, working alongside lawyers and obtaining hands-on experience on complex commercial litigation and investigations. He provided overall paralegal support, including discovery-related tasks, document review, legal research, and case coordination. He was also a member of two trial teams, during which he participated in all facets of pre-trial and trial preparation.

During college, Kevin was a research assistant with the National Registry of Exonerations and for Dr. Elizabeth Loftus’ False Memory Lab. He also completed research projects focusing on prosecutorial misconduct, and on incarcerated mothers’ parental rights. Kevin also interned in the development department at a local nonprofit organization, Project Hope Alliance, assisting with direct donor support, grant writing, and its annual fundraising event. He was the recipient of the Chancellor’s Award of Distinction, Regent’s Scholarship, UCI Alumni Association Distinguished Anteater Award, and Fudge Scholarship.

Kevin moved to Southern California in 2017 and now considers it home. He enjoys working out, being outdoors, spending time with his 165-pound fluffy dog, and listening to audiobooks. Kevin is grateful to be part of the SJLF team and is excited to see the impact that SJLF will have within the communities it serves.
